We spotted a black bear muching on spring grasses. Jeff''s cousin and friend are new to AK so this was a pretty cool part of the trip for them.

How wonderful is it to take a break and spend time with friends doing fun stuff? Very wonderful. The weekend started off rainy but pulled through with some glorious sunshine in the end.

Friday night, Stacy and I headed to the AWA camp to meet up with her hubby Kyle and old friends Brooke and Brent for a little wine and campfire. It was great to catch up with these migrants who spend their summers in Cooper Landing. Also we were all treated to Brooke and Stacy's dance moves, which included my favorite, the robot.

Saturday was a slow start and the rain outside didn't help in the motivation department. We were anxious to see if our FWK would show up (Friends with Kids). Our plan was to camp at the Russian River Campground in Cooper Landing for 2 nights. Fishing doesn't open until June 11th so this usually ridiculously busy place was pretty mellow. We were very proud of our FWK, not only did they show up, we all had a wonderful time...

Kids love camping in the rain. Look at the cool outfits they get to wear.

Not only is it summer, thank God, but time sure does fly doesn't it..yep, that's Sage in his season opener for his Major League team.

Work, sick, work, sick

I was in Hawaii? Can I go back.

Life has been busy. I nursed a cold upon my return from Hawaii and I've been nursing it ever sense. Although I do have to say I'm finally feeling better.

Work is going well. Busy. I work on Sundays. Yuck.

Exciting things in my life:

I signed up for a triathlon, hopefully it will motivate me to move...
Son Volt is playing at the Bear Tooth in June. So excited.
Carpooling.
Tuesday night hikes...spin off of my new carpooling adventure.
I think I'm going to buy a new couch. Trust me, that's way more exciting than it should be.
Wilco is playing at the Mooses Tooth, not as excited as I'm for SonVolt.
Finishing my GIS certificate in June...finally.
One of my best friends is going to Europe for a year (well that's more exciting for him then me, but exciting none the less)
There will be another Brown baby boy, not mine :)

Kicking and screaming I got on the plane back to Alaska. Why do I live here again??
